YAWAC Children's Theatre Master Classes

 

MCT’s Young Actors with a Cause Children’s Theatre Program is proud to offer Master Classes for students of all ages! Classes will take place once a month on Fridays. Classes for students in grades K-6 will take place from 4:30-6:30 and students in grades 7-12 will meet from 6:30-8:30. All classes take place at the theatre. Cost is $5 per class per student.

 

Class Offerings:
November 15 - Posture and Presence
December 13 - Theatre History 
January 17 - Comedy vs. Drama
February 21 - Technical Theatre

 
 
Payment is due at the time of the class.
 

 

 

YAWAC's First Field Trip

Who: Any student in 7th-12th who has participated in one or more of YAWAC’s shows, masterclasses, or events.

 

What: A trip to Anderson University to see their production of the musical review, “And the World Goes ‘Round” featuring music by Kander and Ebb. We’ll have a pizza lunch together and then go to show, have a Q and A with the cast, and take a tour of the Byrum Hall facilities.

 

When: Saturday, November 23rd 12:30-6:00

 

Cost: $10.00 per student (includes pizza and show ticket)

 

How To Sign Up: Come to the theatre on either November 16 or 17 between the hours of 4-6 to drop off your cash payment and the field trip form. Due to the nature of the trip and the fact that pizza and tickets will be ordered in advance, no refunds will be able to be given after November 17th.

 

This musical was rated PG-13 by the director for some suggestive lyrics. If you want more details on this rating please contact lbschaffter@anderson.edu or research and listen to the music that will be performed during the show.

Auditions are Monday, December 16 and Tuesday, December 17 at the theatre. Please enter through the alley doors. Please complete the audition form below.

 

There are roles for both male and female students in grades 7-12 and one female elementary aged student for the role of Helen Keller.

 

Those interested in auditioning need to come prepared to present a monologue.
